Much like finding a four leaf clover, you can stumble upon mutations in nature. I think what's happened to this set of 9 petal "forget me not" flowers is an example of a polyploid mutation (although it could very well be something else). In which an extra set of chromosomes was retained during cell division. This is very common in both wild and agriculturally developed plants such as wheat, canola, banana, apples, etc. If I'm speculating I'd say it was a failure in mitotic cell division rather than meiosis, as you can see the regular wild type expression in the flowers above the mutants. If it was meiotic then the whole plant would express differently. So perhaps at the base of this pair of flower nodes it mutated. And since the number of petals jumped from six to nine I'm also wondering if the wild type plant was diploid (2n) to start, then these flowers became triploid (3n). With each set of chromosomes represented by 3 petals? Theres definitely some variation in the wild type too as those in the second shot only have 5 petals. Hopefully someone can pop this thought bubble if I'm terribly wrong. . . #forgetmenot #botany #botanical #focusstacking #plants #flower #flowerphotography #wildflowers #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #macrophotography #mutation #polyploid

I'm just experiment with focus stacking at home. Did 31 pictures with different focuses with a macro lense and stacked it to this picture. The result isn't perfect but it's pretty fun. #0711 #welivetoexplore #weroamgermamy #igersstuttgart #focusstacking #macro #macrophotography #orchids #blue #flowers

Focus stacking is a technique that some photographers adopt in order to increase the depth of field (or more simply what’s in focus), in a photo. This is sometimes needed as the lens cannot give you the required depth of field you want. This photo consists of a focus stacking of 21 different photos. The process can be difficult to master, but certainly not Impossible. It helps massively to shoot with a tripod and a remote shutter control, as this maintains a static shot. Also shooting with manual focus, rather then auto focus means eliminating the touching of the main camera body, as this can create unwanted movement of the shot. In editing I use photoshop, as it has a focus stacking option. Although some cloning and spot removal is used to eliminate ghosting that sometimes happens if your subject has moved during the process. I will post a video explanation, in the next few days to give a more detailed breakdown. #focus #focusstacking #photography #photooftheday #picoftheday #flowers #flowerphotography #desertrose #pink #bloomingflowers #photoshop #stayhome #staysafe #ficaemcasa

I finally managed to get a good stack of a daddy longlegs spider 🕷. The skin is like shiny greasy leather and therefore hard to capture. The daddy longlegs spider (Pholcus phalangioides) is probably one of the most known spiders. It lives in dark places like caves or cellars. These spiders are no Weavers (Opiliones). . . CZJ Mono Nikon D3400 @nikoninstruments Leitz Wetzlar 2 6x
