Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. •Ralph Waldo Emerson• #breathe #relatablequotes #relax #takeitslow #highspirit #art #readabook #booklover #read #bookstagram #bookillustrations #digitalart #ralphwaldoemerson #digitalillustration #artistherapy #quarantinelife #stayhomestaysafe #keepgoing #findpeace #slowday #bored #copenhagenart

Hey friends! How are you doing? I don't have a lot I want to say today, so let's just have one of those posts where we talk a bit about how we're doing/feeling/anything right now, because I thought that was really nice last time! 🌸 I'm doing alright. I seem to have messed up my back a bit, probably from sitting in dumb ways while studying (or just sitting too much on my uncomfortable desk chair) and now I'm feeling very uncomfortable and just not great in general. I'm also a bit stressed out by school, because my courses are difficult, online education is hard and my ability to focus is not at its best. And as I mentioned on my story yesterday I'm also a bit stressed out by how Sweden is handling the crisis. I.e. by letting a lot of stuff be business as usual. I don't know. It just feels a bit weird and confusing. But I'm not really affected by anything so I can't complain, really. 🌸 As for some good things, we've had really nice weather lately and I've been out for very nice walks. Everything is starting to bloom which is lovely. Our broken oven got replaced yesterday so I can finally bake again! Overall, everything is pretty decent, I'm doing okay. Hugs for all of you, stay safe 💕 🌸 #bookstagram #bookphotography #bookishfeature #bookstagramfeature #igreads #unitedbookstagram #booksbooksbooks #booksofig #bibliophile #bettyreadsbooks #becauseofreading #booklover #bookworm #readingismagic

I actually read this book pretty fast and I am not sorry about that at all! I think it was less than 2 hours? I really enjoyed this one because it felt so real. It felt like I was living in her heartbreak. It also felt like she was experiencing my heartbreak. As awful as it sounds, I really enjoy seeing how people overcome their darkness and have triumph. There are definitely some heavy themes in here, but they didn’t bother me. They might bother you, so read with caution! I highly recommend this book to people who feel as though there is no end in sight to this current situation. I promise there is and we will all be there together! 4.5/5. • • • • • #cosmicreaderenergy #theprincesssavesherselfinthisone #amandalovelace #read #mustread #enjoy #bookstagram #book

Miss Austen by Gill Hornby. A wonderfully original, emotionally complex novel that delves into why Cassandra burned a treasure trove of letters written by her sister, Jane Austen – an act of destruction that has troubled academics for centuries. 1840: twenty three years after the death of her famous sister Jane, Cassandra Austen returns to the village of Kintbury, and the home of her family’s friends, the Fowles. She knows that, in some dusty corner of the sprawling vicarage, there is a cache of family letters which hold secrets she is desperate should not be revealed. As Cassandra recalls her youth and her relationship with her brilliant yet complex sister, she pieces together buried truths about Jane’s history, and her own. And she faces a stark choice: should she act to protect Jane’s reputation? Or leave the contents of the letters to go unguarded into posterity … Based on a literary mystery that has long puzzled biographers and academics, Miss Austen is a wonderfully original and emotionally complex novel about the loves and lives of Cassandra and Jane Austen. #GillHornby #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookshelf #booksofinstagram #bookstore #bookstagramfeature #bookshop #booksbooksbooks #bookshelves #bookslover #booksph #booksarelife #booksofig #bookstack #bookstagrampl #booksigning #bookseries #bookstagramfeatures #booksale #bookstagramer #novel #thrillerbooks #Suspense #romancebooks #romancenovels #untiltomorrow

In English Literature, we study a subject called “Advanced Academic Reading and Writing”. I love this subject as it has helped me a lot to improve my writing skills as well as my reading perspectives. One thing that I’ve learned from this subject is how to understand the purpose of the text. It says every text is written to entertain, inform, explain, or persuade. Another important point this subject has taught me is to select your audience before writing any text. For example, now I’m writing this post, I should be cleared in my mind that for whom I’m writing this. My targeted audience is not scientists, politicians, religious figures, makeup artists, fitness freaks, etc. That doesn’t mean they can’t understand my writing or they’re not capable to participate in such discussion, certainly not! It means this post may not benefit them as much as it will help students, readers, writers or anyone else who is into Literature. I read 1984 with @iamumerkamran (Thank you bearing my pace) the first thing I said to him after finishing this book was, “How to unread a book?” Yes, I disliked the book this much that I wanted to eradicate this story from my mind. I was not enjoying the book since page one but I didn’t give up and completed it with the hope that things will get better. Things didn’t get better, they got worst instead. In fact, the last few pages cringed me so much that I wanted to fling away the book but you can’t do this to a book, I know! I didn’t like the book it doesn’t mean THE BOOK IS BAD or IT IS NOT IMPORTANT or WRITER HAS NO SKILLS TO WRITE ONE BEAUTIFUL STORY or YOU SHOULD NOT READ THIS BOOK! It simply means either I was reading the book to soothe my nerves while it is written to through some harsh realities at the reader or I’m not the targeted audience for this book. It means George Orwell has not written this book for a reader like me, who is not much into politics and who can’t read physical abuse without getting it on her nerves. But these few lines from this book will live with me forever; Continued in comments...

New mug, new book! 😍 Currently reading Circe by Madeline Miller and loving it!

To the junior doctors I would say - I hope when you encounter your patient, you get to know the things their medical charts won't tell you. I hope you get to know that your 74-year-old patient is a grandmother of ten, that she likes knitting & loved cooking, that she is a woman who has loved & been loved back, that in the third decade of her life, she had to turn bitter to raise six children without a husband, that she was an obedient daughter, a patient widow, & a strict yet caring mother-in-law, that she loves eating biryani & her favorite movie to date is Titanic dubbed in Urdu, that she's seen the loss of her parents, her younger brother, attended the funerals of her best friend & favorite neighbor, that the first & last time she smoked was sixty years ago, on a rooftop, with her elder sister - secretly, that even today she firmly believes that her first mode of defense is the Tahajjud prayer, that she hates needle-pricks & nurses who don't smile with their patients, that her name has both Arabic & Persian origin yet she never got to travel to those countries, that the year you were born, she celebrated the golden jubilee of her life, and the day her last grandchild was born, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, that she has been in & out of the hospital more times than she could keep a count, and even though she knows that life, for the most part, has been unkind to her, she can not help but desire to live a little more, to at least see her third grandaughter walking down the aisle, or to see her youngest grandson throwing graduation cap in the air, or to live a little more just to breathe, in abundant peace. To the young doctor, I would say: I hope when you take the history of your patient, you really get to know their history. Taking History – Zarnain Shah@the.doctor.writes . . . . .
