_ 🇬🇧In the 1970s the World Bank provided funds for the redevelopment of the Tondo area. This led to an increase in rental prices and to the real estate boom in the area, while increasing the social divide. Despite efforts, these areas remain very different from other parts of Manila and the inequality that has been created is visible. . . . . #documentaryphotography #photography #streetphotography #documentary #manila #philippines #photojournalism #ig #lensculture #photographer #portrait #photooftheday #documentaryphotographer #storytelling #life #people #travelphotography #streets #canon #spicollective #photo #travel #reportage #travelphotographer #portraitphotography #magnumphotos #reportagephotography #Ilreportage_award #everydayphilippines

THE DOCTOR IS IN. A tent built within the hospital premises seems to be serving as an out-patient clinic, as it appears some consultations are now being held outside the hospital building. They spent together several minutes to say the least, as history taking and assessment alone takes a while. Activist groups held a mass protest against the controversial Anti-terror Bill which was certified “urgent” by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the House of Representatives and the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City. June 3, 2020. Several hours later, the lower house approved the bill on its 3rd and final reading with an affirmative from 174 lawmakers, while an identical version of the bill was already passed by the Senate last February. This makes the bill a signature away from President Duterte before being enacted into law. According to human rights lawyers, the proposed bill could endanger basic rights on freedom of speech and expression due to ambiguity in its provisions.
