Watched #HowToMarryAMillionaire (1953) A fun film ruled by Women but won by Men at last. How To Marry A Millionaire is not an amazing story but it is genuinely connectable. 3 gold digger women desperately searching for rich men to marry them with fake love end up finding true love of their lives. The narrative isn't so exciting or something like that but the comedy and pacy screenplay keeps it engaging and grippy. Some dialogues are hilariously written taunting men and telling how women seek fortune, watch out for that one Lauren Bacall joking on Humphrey Bogart as she says, "I always love old man". Even though it is very much watchable film it lacks certain amount of terrific entertainment because everything in the film happens so quickly before you realise. I mean all 3 dames takes time to find fake love but it takes them just a few secs to find thier true love and flirt them. I mean, it doesn't happen in real life so quickly. Here i guess the film lacks elaboration. Setting up 3 love stories in 95 minutes is not possible practically unless you're some kind of a genius writer. It hurts the film as it couldn't expand those stories upto their potential and film looks like a hurry up bunny. 15-20 minutes more and it would have made a lot of difference to the film and to the presence of all the ladies. Lauren Bacall, Bretty Grable and Marilyn Monroe (even with specs) plays little dum charctaers but all 3 look gorgeous and charming. Rest of the cast doesn't get much time to leave an impression. Jena Negulesco has made a decent entertainer that can certainly be seen once or twice at least but to be more precise and harsh he could have easily made it much better if he had worked on screenplay. Overall, How To Marry A Millionaire is a fun film, it's refreshing, its pacy and it is definitely watchable whenever you wish to pass those 95 mins for entertainment. And don't forget it's the women's film but won by the Men at the end so Male and Female both should enjoy it. June 1st was #marilynmonroe birthday and this weekend was another one for the books just like this night back in the day. During the ‘50s, one of the most popular venues was Mocambo in Hollywood. Frank Sinatra made his Los Angeles debut at Mocambo in 1943, and it was frequented by the likes of #ClarkGable #CharlieChaplin #HumphreyBogart #LaurenBacall and #LanaTurner. #EllaFitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of her biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, she tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life: “I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt … she personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him – and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status – that the press would go wild. “The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman – a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it."

The two lovers try to hide their affair. One day, they meet between two flights to New York but the journalists wait for them: "The idea that I can leave Simone is simply ridiculous", says the actor then. Marilyn nevertheless believed in this story. Even more, she had "fallen in love with him": "He told me that he had spent delicious moments with me and that he hoped that I had been happy with him", she despairs in front of the unshakeable love that the Italian has for the beautiful Frenchwoman: "It's very simple, I can't live without Simone. She is an exceptional woman." ♡ During the filming of Let's Make Love, the two stars of the film; Marilyn Monroe and Yves Montand, both married, have a passionate affair, but despite Monroe's love, he never left his wife, the great Simone Signoret. ♡ ♡ ♡ #marilynmonroe #yvesmontand #simonesignoret #arthurmiller #letsmakelove #sexsymbol #classicactor #classicactress #classicmovie #oldhollywoodglamour #vintagehollywood #cinema #film #movie @classichollywood_photo #1960s #60s #1960 #vintage #pinup #hollywoodpinups #hollywoodbeauty #hollywoodhair #vintagestyle #somelikeithot #gentlemenpreferblondes #thesevenyearitch #howtomarryamillionaire #laurenbacall #montgomeryclift #tonycurtis
